Review of the Work in Alive ‘06

In January ‘07, Alive, the Irish Living Food Network celebrated it’s 4th. birthday. Our monthly potluck parties have continued with both old and new members attending, swapping recipes and enjoying raw food demonstrations; talks and of course all the gorgeous raw delights we are treated to at our meetings.
April 6th saw the launch of Bernadette Bohan’s 2nd. Book ‘The Choice - The Programme’. It jumped straight to No 1 on the bestsellers list. Well-done Bernadette!
Veronica and Paul ran popular one-day workshops giving practical demonstrations and recipes through the year.
The ‘Happy Pear’, Stephen and David Flynn opened their Cafe in Greystones and made raw food options available to the public. July saw the arrival of Brian Clement, Jill Swyers and Bodhi de Silva to Dublin.
Jill and Bodhi spoke at our July Alive meeting sharing their vast knowledge and philosophy with us.
Kevin Jacobsen, one of our founding members, passing was commemorated with the planting of a tree in Glendalough.
Deirdre’s restaurant, Cornucopia was granted planning permission to extend next door. Deirdre is one of Alive’s Founder members.
Lillian and Eddie flew in from the states and held a Living Food workshop in SOL, in Wicklow on the 30th September. The day was well attended and voted a great success by all. We went home well fed with lots of new recipes to try out. Our annual Christmas Party was held in SOL in Wicklow. It started in Glendalough with a warm raw soup followed by an invigorating walk. We then adjourned back to SOL for Christmas Carols and a raw gourmet feast prepared by Veronica and her many helpers.
At our meetings during the year we also had very informative talks from Rosin McCafferty on “Enzyme Nutrition”, Sean O’ Halloran spoke on the “Verbal Diet” and I spoke on “Polarity Therapy”.
Congratulations to Veronica and Paul on becoming Raw Gourmet Chefs.
Looking forward to welcoming old and new members to our monthly meetings in both Wicklow and Dublin.
